I don’t think our paths were ever meant to cross, but that one day the Gods of Fate had taken their eyes off the two of us. Because I have replayed that first day, the day I ever met you. Over and over more than a million times in my head. I wasn’t supposed to be there that morning. I had to be at work but I played hookie to go on this oil transportation ship for a tour. You weren’t supposed to come either but you were forced. I remember pulling up to your driveway; as I sat in the front seat not even paying any attention to my surroundings until you walked out your front door. I’ll never forget the look on your face. You were tired; your eyes had sleep seeping from your tear ducts. Your feet were trying to keep up with your body, your arms were heavy and then for a second you rubbed your eyes and got in the car. I remember your torn jeans, black jacket and your semi shaved head.
At that moment I gathered by your body language you probably spent the night watching tv or playing videos games. What ever it was that kept 18 year old boys from getting a good nights rest.
I’ll never forget in that moment when I turned my head around and looked at you because you smiled at me. I ‘ll never forget that moment because I saw this spark in your eyes. You weren’t just smiling with your mouth; you were smiling with your eyes. I had never seen someone smile with his or her eyes. I’ll never forget looking at you with such wonder, and at that time I had already claimed my preconceived notions about you. However they weren’t all bad, I had always been really good at seeing souls that beamed with light. You were the light on that dark morning of mine. And I was the girl who fell in love with the rawness of your soul without evening knowing you. And in a simple moment you blew me away by accident.
Its been five years and not a day has gone by where I haven't stopped loving you.
